Biggest travel mistakes not to do while on trip

Travel encompasses adventure, experience, fun and also mistakes that may ruin your trip or in best scenario stop you from getting the best out of your trip. Here you are a list of the biggest travel mistakes not to do while on trip.

Over packing. We are all tempted to take our lovely clothes and stuff with us on travel. We don’t want to leave anything behind and fantasize ourselves in our best outfits in every outing. But this can be your major setback. Travel should lighten you not chain your feet with weight and fear of losing your stuff unattended. Pack smartly and only take things that you really can’t do without.

Not having a plan for your cell phone. Your phone will usually be your only channel to the outer world while abroad. Decide if you will activate roaming service or buy a local number to make calls. Internet is also essential. Check if your hotel offers free Wi-Fi and if not, plan this ahead too.

Booking back to back connected flights. Not leaving enough time between your connected flights can be your fatal mistake here. Keep in mind that some problems might come up and disrupt your plans; plane technical failure or airport sudden measures or any other reason that may cause you to miss your next flight. Time will also do you good to catch your breath and check out the airport shops.

Over planning your trip. Don’t try to do too much in one trip, believe me it won’t work. It will either give you disappointment for not being able to do it all or make you exhausted. Leave free time to get rest, enjoy the place and watch people. It may be good for spontaneous plans that might come up.

Don’t eat or stay near a major tourist site. Prices tend to be doubled only because of location. Book your stay smartly and book a room in the middle of the town that has near access to public transportation. And for food, have your meals at your hotel and give street food a try.

Never exchange cash in airport unless you really need to. Exchange rates at airports tend to cause you extreme loss.

Don’t book too early. Of course you are excited for your trip and happy to finally being able to save money for it that you booked it 6 or 7 months ahead. Early bookings may cause you to miss good deals and offers. Still, don’t book your trip in last minute.

Having very high expectations. Something will always come up and force a plan change. A cancelled event or stolen money. Be ready for that and decide to enjoy your trip no matter what.
