Surrounded by picturesque nature, Wadi Tiwi is one of the most important and distinctive destinations and a hidden gem on the tourism map in the Sultanate of Oman.

In this report, we take you on a tour around this charming spot in the village of Mebam, where the beauty of nature meets tranquility.

Wadi Tiwi is located in the Niyabat of Tiwi in the Wilayat of Sur, in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, 140 kilometers from Muscat Governorate, on the coastal road from Sur to Muscat.

The valley, which is also known as the “Valley of the Nine Villages,” extends over a distance of 36 kilometers from the mountainous village of Mebam, and passes through many agricultural villages that grow palms and bananas, overlooking majestic mountain views.

With its picturesque and diverse nature, the valley represents an opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature and the exceptional winter atmosphere that Tiwi witnesses, as the valleys form a unique ecosystem characterized by multiplicity, diversity, and natural richness.

Mebam village can be reached by car, then walk down into the valley for about 10 minutes.

The best way to explore the valley is on foot, where the emerald-coloured ponds and palm tree plantations line the road that passes between the villages.

The atmosphere of the site is characterized by calm and tranquility interspersed with the sounds of nature, which makes it a unique experience away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, as the Sultanate of Oman has natural treasures, which must be utilized and preserved.

In a feeling of comfort and relaxation, you see the fresh water flowing in the valley, as it is a “wonderful symphony” played by nature that has not been touched by human intervention.

Wadi Tiwi is also a natural water park, famous for its abundance of water throughout the year. It is also characterized by palm trees, bananas, lemons, and other fruits.

In addition to being a destination for visitors, Wadi Tiwi is a destination for many adventurers, as some sites require high fitness due to the use of ropes as a means of descent. It is also important to know how to swim and not be afraid of heights.
