It is now possible to take a trip into Rome’s rich past with ancient civilization, after the government of the Italian capital announced the opening of new attractions.

The authorities in Rome revealed the opening of a new archaeological park, the Cilio Archaeological Park, while announcing the opening of the newest archaeological museum for visitors to the city, the Forma Urbis Museum, which is located close to the Colosseum.

These new tourist attractions were designed specifically to give visitors to the Italian capital, Rome, the opportunity to delve deeply into Roman history in an unprecedented way, and get to know the ancient style of the ancient city.

Within these shrines, visitors will find a marble map of ancient Rome, on display for the first time. This map was engraved in the period between 203 and 211 AD, during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus.

About 10 meters of the total area of the map, which is between 13 and 18 meters in size, has survived over time, and with restoration operations, specialists have succeeded in placing it in a display window covered with glass so that visitors can view it.

These new attractions are part of a broader project to improve the mountainous areas surrounding the ancient area of Rome, the Palatine Hill and the Colosseum, which includes many of the city’s monuments.

The new garden is open every day to visitors, with free entry. As for the museum, it is available for visits all days of the week, and is closed on Mondays. Entrance fees are 9 euros per person, equivalent to 7.75 British pounds, or 10 dollars.
