If you are a cheese lover who happens to be in Netherlands then visiting the Amsterdam Cheese Museum in the capital is a must.

Did you know that Gouda, Edam, Leerdammer, Leyden, Maaslander, and Maasdam aren’t only cheese names but also names of cities where these chesses were first manufactured? There is more information to digest while wandering in the museum.

The quite small museum has been organized and dedicated exclusively to Dutch cheese. It contains a shop andan exhibition part. The place offers free cheese tasting and an opportunity to live the history of cheese making.

There, you can see the world’s most expensive cheese slicer and have a picture dressing up like a traditional Dutch cheese farmer.

You will find there different educational information in the form of videos, pictures and text about the history and the production of Dutch cheese.
