The Paradise waterfalls in Lebanon’s Baakline village have earned their name due to their capturing beauty. The village is located in Mount Lebanon, Chouf district, nearly 45 kilometers southeast of the capital Beirut.
The water’s emerald color is due to the reflection of the surrounding trees giving the place its magical effect. The Paradise waterfall is probably the most visited picnic spot in the area during summer time.
The water’s depth is nearly 9 meters and it is clear and perfect for swimming. You will be surrounded with harmless fish. You can rent tables and chairs, bring your own food and even hold a barbecue. Admission fees vary between 20,000 LL and 30,000 LL depending on where you want to sit. Note that no pets, music, instruments, or shisha allowed.
August and September are the best months as water temperature is good enough for a swim. It is better to visit the waterfall during weekdays to avoid the crowds that hits peak on Sundays. Noon is the best time of the day to enjoy the landscape, get the perfect spot and make sure everything gets prepared before lunchtime.
